PlugIn Manager

Plugins are additional modules for EULANDA, which were developed outside the EULANDA system, but are stored in the database after installation. This technology allows third-party vendors to develop add-on modules that extend your EULANDA system. These can be extensions of the database, the EULANDA homepage, screen masks, information systems, short information systems, reports and much more.

Every provider of plugins has an identifier at EULANDA Software GmbH, a so-called "Vendor-ID". All installed plugins will display this VendorID as manufacturer name via the plugin manager.

Plugins can be free of charge or bound to certain options such as an ABO (= maintenance contract) or they can be purchased. Each plugin in the forum has in its description a section "Overview" with information about the manufacturer, prices etc.
 

Installing the plugins with the Plugin Manager


Starting with EULANDA 2008 (Build 5580) there is a new module in the EULANDA system management, the Plugin Manager. This displays an overview of all installed plugins, with information about the plug-in name, the plug-in version and the manufacturer of the plug-in. Of course, the list is empty at first, because no plugin is installed yet.
 

Setup


Plugins are installation files and have the file extension "cnsinst". For example, you can load a plugin from the forum and save it to your desktop. Click on the button "Install new plug-in" to start the installation by selecting the plug-in file via the file dialog.
 
 
 
Install new PlugIn
 
 
The Plugin-Manager checks if your EULANDA is suitable for this plugin. This will then show you the name of the plugin and installation options, if applicable.
If options are available, they can be installed by checking the box. Some plugins contain an information file, this is then displayed via the button at the bottom left which changes its label from "Journal" to "Information". The manufacturer of a plugin can also start this information automatically, so that the information text is already displayed after selecting the plugin. Click on the "Finish installation" button to install the plugin and the overview list of all installed plugins is displayed again.
 
 

Change options or display information about the plugin


When the Plugin-Manager is called, all installed plugins are displayed first. Select the plugin for which you want to change options, display information or uninstall by checking it, and then click on the"Change Plugin Options" button. Only the installed plugin is now displayed in the list window. If a plus symbol is displayed at the beginning of the line, there are options for the plugin that you can change.
 

Uninstalling a plugin


Start the plugin manager and select the plugin you want to uninstall and then click on the "Change plugin options" button. The plugin is now displayed individually with its information if necessary. By deselecting the checkbox, the button changes the text to "Uninstall Plugin". Select it, the plugin will now be uninstalled. However, if this plugin is still required by another later installed plugin, you will receive a corresponding error message. In this case you have to uninstall the dependent plugin first.
 
Please note that plugins may expand files in which you have entered information. Plugins also delete their own fields or file extensions when uninstalling.
