Setup

General information

The PiccoLink® wireless terminal has an integrated setup in which you can set the timeout and the retries.

Each connection (=request) always starts from the radio terminal and the radio server responds to this request.

If the answer takes too long, the radio terminal signals a timeout (=time overflow). The factory setting of 1 sec. is often set too short, since it is not always guaranteed that the necessary data can be found, processed and packed as a response by the SQL server within one second.

If the answer comes too late, the radio terminal reports a timeout error. Since it is also possible that in case of a bad radio transmission the request does not reach the base station in the first place, the timeout value should not be set too high.

We recommend setting the value to max. 3 seconds.
